An important group of six panels in hammered, gilded and painted cordovan leather probably commissioned by a wealth naval merchant, whose monogram is imprinted in many of the panels, whose theme, repeated in each panel, shows a rich city nestled among green pastures, a galleon with full sail, and the allusive figures of Neptune, god of the sea, and Mercury, protector of merchants.
